Book 3, The Wolverette Summary

Due to busing and the further integration of the schools, Calliope ends up going to a private school once the family moved to Grosse Pointe. Calliope goes to an all girls school where she is on the field hockey team, however, she is not very good. Calliope blames her non-athleticism on the problematic body she has to deal with. Calliope is going through numerous physical changes. For one, she got braces in seventh grade. The shape of her features begins to change to be more angular, her nose begins to arch, and her bushy eyebrows grow.

One thing that has not changed is her missing period. Calliope has not grown breasts either and this fact makes the horror of the locker room worse than on the field. All of the girls are.....
