Valerian

Valerian is an agent with the Spatio-Temporal Agency. He is Laureline's partner, but he is not the typical hero in this episode of the series. Valerian and Laureline have become linked together so they can communicate in a telepathic manner. The connection is apparently giving Valerian trouble, such as headaches that make him unable to function well. He is struggling to keep the connection with Laureline open, but he is unable to fully grasp what is happening at some given points in time. With these problems, he is unable to put clues together as quickly as usual, and some readers may find him ineffective and not likeable.

Valerian is depicted as a handsome man. He has dark hair and a strong profile. Though he is unable to function fully during this episode of the series, he is usually an intelligent, capable agent.
