Chapter 7 Summary

The Mirador is now broken. Magic cannot be worked within the city of Mélusine. Many were killed in the fire and the attack of the spirits that followed the fall of the Mirador. The spells that had kept the Mirador together had protected the city for many years. No one knows necromancy anymore, the magic that deals with the afterlife. Felix cannot remember everything that has passed, but now they are a government in exile, escaping the city through the underground tunnels and catacombs of the city. Thaddeus will not let Felix be. He keeps interrogating him for more information on what happened in his dream with Malkar. Felix's fingers throb with pain. Not being able to perform magic, Gideon could only partially repair Felix's hand.
