Part 3: Chapters 49-66 Summary

Part 3: School - What Could be Scarier Than That?

Chapter 49: Max gets closer to the meeting point. At first she thinks she spots a helicopter and then realizes that it is a flock of hawks. Max draws closer.

"My heart swelled—there were four way-too-big hawks, all right. Except hawks usually weren't quite as awkward as these four. And hawks didn't usually wear sneakers." Chap. 49, pg. 160

Max is filled with relief when she realizes that the others have waited for her.

Chapter 50: Max and the others reunite. Stories are exchanged about the events over the past couple of days. The group takes off to go and rescue Angel.

Chapter 51: As the kids fly they talk about saving Angel. Max apologizes for delaying the mission.

Chapter 52: The Flock flies until it needs food. They stop in a small town...
