Ylla, a Martian with light brown skin, yellow eyes, and a melodic voice is the wife of Yll K. Unhappy in her now-dull marriage and longing for outside excitement, Ylla symbolizes the housewife of Earth in the 1940's. Ylla forms a telepathic bond with the first of the Mars explorers, Captain Nathanial York.
