House of Night

The House of Night is the main setting in the book. It is the place where vampyres go to school and to live. As a newly marked person, Zoey must go to the House of Night to learn how to deal with her new status as a fledgling vampyre. Zoey's grandmother, Sylvia Redbird takes Zoey to the House of Night after she is marked and injured in a fall. Zoey's grandmother leaves Zoey in the care of Neferet, the High Priestess of the school.

The House of Night is described much like a college campus. Located in the suburbs of Tulsa, OK, the school has a touch of the Old South as well as hints of old Europe with its Gothic and Grecian elements.
