Maniac Magee Characters

Jeffery Lionel "Maniac" Magee

At a very young age, Magee loses his parents. This tragedy is always with him and while he is always a very positive person, underneath the surface, he is deeply hurt by the loss. Magee has great physical ability. It seems as if he able to do anything; from running for long periods of time, hitting many homeruns in a row, and catching any football that is thrown to him. His physical ability is unexplainable, yet since he doesn't really practice or work out on a regular basis, his ability is natural. In addition to his ability, Magee totally lacks fear. While most people would hesitate and back away from certain tasks, Magee faces them head-on, as if there was never any problem.
