Chapter 43 Summary
Magee sleeps in the park, or in the animal pens in the zoo, and eats whatever he can find. Magee reads in the library and plays pick-up games. He loves getting up early in the morning when no one is awake and no knows who he is. That early in the morning there is no West End or East End, just a town. He felt so comfortable he ends up sleeping on a different back porch or yard every night, once even sleeping in someone's kitchen after finding the backdoor unlocked.
Chapter 43 Analysis
Magee knows that hate is something people choose to feel and is not something that happens naturally. That is why it is stated that early in the morning there is no East or West End, because people have determined this division; it is not a natural one.
