Chapter 35 Summary

At first John thought Magee had kidnapped his brothers, Russell and Piper. He gets angry when the boys learn they are with Maniac Magee, because they have heard all the stories. Magee tries to lessen John's embarrassment by making up a story that the day after the frog-ball homerun, John had struck Magee out by throwing a stopball. They invite Magee back to their house and when they get there Magee finds the entire house is a mess. Mr. McNab comes home with fast food for dinner and then leaves, telling the boys to do their homework. The rest of the chapter describes some of Magee's experiences at the McNab house. Magee tries to clean up the house, but it is a lost cause. The Cobras come over and it is total chaos, as all the boys seem to do whatever they want. At night, Magee sleeps...
