Chapter 25 Summary

In the morning Grayson brings Magee breakfast and Magee asks him about baseball. Grayson tells him he used to play in the minor leagues as a pitcher. He tells a story about when he first started playing, someone hold him that all new players get a free meal at a certain restaurant. Grayson eats a large meal only to find the man had lied. He missed his first game because he had to wash dishes to work off the meal.

Magee is impressed with Grayson's story and decides to help Grayson with his maintenance work. When Grayson's boss comes by and asks about the boy, Grayson answers that Magee is his nephew. His boss tells him that while they can not pay him, Magee is allowed to help. So every afternoon they worked together and when they were not working they spent all their time with one...
