Chapter 20 Summary
At the pizza shop, they bring the knot outside and hang it from the flagpole. They also bring out a table for Magee to stand on. At first Magee examines the knot very carefully. Only a few people are watching, but slowly the crowd grows. Magee actually makes the knot larger until he finally finds the end of the knot. Meanwhile the pizza shop is busy with customers. Before proceeding, a little kid gives Magee a pack of butterscotch Krimpets, which he eats. Knowing he needed to be alert in order to untie the knot, Magee then takes a nap right on the table. When he awakes, he goes back to work and by dinnertime, the knot is nothing but a string.
