Chapter 14 Summary

Magee loves his new life; waking up very early in the morning, shouting "Amen" in church, going to the block parties, and most of the all, he loves the colors of people in the community. One day he is playing in the street when Hands Down shows up. He remembers Magee as the boy who intercepted the football from him in gym class. Hands Down starts throwing passes to Magee and he catches everyone. His athletic feats cause him to be even more popular in town and more and more people refer to him as Maniac. Even the Beale's have a hard time not calling him that.
