Chapter 7 Summary

The next time Magee is spotted is at the little league field. John McNab, a big, cocky twelve-year-old, is trying to beat the record for most strikeouts in a row. Even though the game was over, he had boys lined up as he threw fastball after fastball, striking them out. After thirty-five strike outs, Magee steps up with a bat and places the book on the plate. At first McNab, would not let Magee bat because he was not on the team, so Magee took a hat from one of the players and put it on. McNab throws, and on the first pitch, Magee hits a homerun. McNab throws more balls and Magee hits everyone. Even when McNab throws balls that aren't strikes Magee is still able to hit them. McNab picks up a frog and throws it.
