Chapter Five Summary

As she insisted, Alex sleeps in her tent. She wakes to the beauty of the Alaskan morning. Although she has steeled herself against the allures of his bed, she give in to her weakness and visits for coffee and plumbing. Because one of his pilots has called in sick Casey is in a hurry to get to work. Before he goes he tells Alex he will send her some men to build her an outhouse. After he leaves Alex is so overwhelmed by his dirty house that she cleans for him. After she finishes Casey's house, Alex loads her own furniture into a truck and starts working on her own cabin.
