Chapter 15 Summary

Marco visits Rosie, looking ragged from his dubious promotion. He proposes they get married (in one week!) and she accepts. Finally, Marco breaks down, and swears vengeance on Senator Iselin. Marco relates that he is unlikely to murder Iselin, even as he contemplates the ease of such a task, but vows that he will avenge his honor. He also tells Rosie about his dreams, and his belief that Raymond won the Medal of Honor as part of a Communist plot. At this point, Rosie reveals that her ex-fiancy is an FBI agent, and may be able to help Marco with his case. The agent, Lou Amjac, is not particularly happy about assisting his former girlfriend's new beau, but does believe the case has merit. Rosie and Amjac engage in a bit of playful.....
