Boston, present day

Boston is the home town of Magnus Chase, and the center of Midgard (home of the humans). Boston sits at the trunk of the World Tree, which makes it an easy place to access the other worlds. Because of its location, some of the magic of the other worlds seeps into Boston. Magnus also notices a similarity between Boston and other places in the Nine Worlds. Nidavellir (home of the dwarves) reminds Magnus of Southie, and Alfheim (home of the elves) reminds him of posh suburbs such as Wellesey.

Valhalla, present day
