Summary

In Chapter 45, the crew boards the Big Banana and sail west. The first day of sailing they focus on recovery, in shock and not quite believing that they really succeeded. Magnus heals injuries. Hearthstone and Blitzen make sure everyone has what they need, including company. Blitzen teaches Alex to knit a chainmail sweater vest as a distraction. After her nightly prayers, Samirah tells Magnus that he did amazingly. Magnus compliments her on resisting Loki’s influence.

Samirah tells Magnus that she has a lot to be thankful for, and Magnus thinks about who he feels thankful toward besides the crew of the Big Banana. He thinks about how Sigyn showed him silent support, and how Randolph tried to make amends by leading him to the mead. Sam encourages Magnus to talk to Alex, saying he dropped a bombshell on her during the flyting...
