Summary

In Chapter Nine, Blitzen and Hearthstone see Magnus just as he sees them. They begin to yell his name, almost revealing his identity to Aegir. Magnus cuts them off before they are able to fully say his name. Sam, Magnus and Alex jog towards the cage under the guise of wanting to see Aegir’s "magnificent specimens" (194). Magnus uses sign language to communicate to them that Aegir will kill him if they reveal who he is. Magnus remarks that he is surprised that a god would eat dwarves and elves. Aegir cuts him off, explaining that he is not an Aesir or Vanir god, but rather a Jotun (Giant) deity and that he sometimes eats dwarves and elves.

Aegir asks Magnus, Alex and Sam if they have special dietary restrictions. Sam responds quickly that she is Muslim, and that because of Ramadan she...
