Chapter 2 Digory and His Uncle Summary

Digory screams in horror that Polly has disappeared. Uncle Andrew clasps a hand over Digory's mouth, telling Digory that they don't want to upset Digory's mother. Uncle Andrew's experiment has worked, and Polly has vanished out of this world. Uncle Andrew tells Digory that he has sent her to another world. Digory's godmother had given Uncle Andrew a secret box before she died, but he did not burn it as she had requested. Uncle Andrew didn't open the box for a long time. He found that the box was from the lost city of Atlantis. Uncle Andrew also began studying magic and so he came to have an idea of what was in the box. The box contained something that had been brought from another world when this one.....
