Summary

Chapter 22 is written from the multiple third person perspectives of Julia and Ellie.

Julia goes to the police station to meet George. Everyone knows who he is now. He was convicted of killing his wife and daughter, but was later released on a technicality. Alice, whose real name is Brittany, is the daughter he allegedly killed. George wants her back. Julia refuses to give him to her him. George says he will see her in court. After George leaves, a shaken Julia reads a file containing information about the murder case. Cal. Peanut and Ellie join her. Cal says that they need a plan. Julia thinks how she will do anything for Alice and tells Ellie to hire a detective to try to uncover information about George that proves he is an unfit parent.
