Summary

In Chapter 9 Ani returns to her adulthood where she fantasized that Andrew (Mr. Larson) would leave his wife and children for her when he learned she did not want to marry Luke. Even as she fantasized, Ani knew Andrew’s (Mr. Larson’s) appeal was in the fact that he had supported her and believed her story in high school. When she suggested to her mother she was having second thoughts about the wedding, her mother warned her not to mess up her opportunity with Luke.
