Summary

In Chapter 5, the focus switches back to Ani as an adult. In a group meeting with her boss. Ani and the others are tempted with cookies. Although it was Ani’s idea, Eleanor suggested a story about the face of sexual harassment in 2014. Lolo yawned at Eleanor’s suggestion for a headline but Ani spoke up with the one she had already come up with for the story. Ani noticed a vein throbbing in Lolo’s forehead when she suggested Ani pass her research to Eleanor. In a switch to the present tense, Ani wonders if Lolo is more aware of Eleanor’s lack of talent than she lets on.
