Jared Grace

Jared Grace is the twin brother of Simon Grace. He is intelligent, quick-tempered, and an excellent artist. Jared's intelligence is immediately evident when he is preparing for his day by reading the Field Guide to find a spell to help protect himself and his family.

His temper is evidenced briefly when his siblings try to return the Field Guide to the Goblins. Mallory, his sister, calls Jared selfish, which may be somewhat true. He refuses to give up the Field Guide, partially because it makes their life exciting, which is selfish and partially because he really believes that giving up the Field Guide means they do not have a bargaining chip with the bad creatures threatening them in the Fantastical World.

In the asylum, when Jared discovers the Field Guide is missing, the bad side of his temper is seen. He almost hits his sister and only...
