Chapter 3 Summary

Jared tells Aunt Lucinda about the goblins, trolls, and griffin that they've seen from the Fantastical World. He hopes she is as enthralled with the world and its creatures as he is so that she can convince his siblings to keep the guide.

Mallory eats the sugar cookies and mentions Thimbletack, the brownie, that lives in the house. Lucinda is thrilled to hear about Thimbletack and asks how the brownie is doing. Lucinda grabs a bag out of her side table, which contains stone and clay marbles. Jared asks Lucy if the marbles belong to Thimbletack, but she says they are hers but the brownie loved playing with them when they were younger.

Simon asks Lucinda if Arthur is her dad, to which she says yes and mentions the artwork in the house. Lucinda comments on all the wonderful art in the house...
