Chapter 13 Summary

Oliver and Jenny receive an invitation to Oliver Barrett III's sixtieth birthday party. Jenny tries to goad Oliver into agreeing to attend the party, saying that the invitation is his father's way of reaching out to him. Oliver refuses, stating that his mother sent the invitation, not his father. Jenny continues to push, bringing up the possibility that Oliver himself will someday have a child who will feel the same way about him, as he feels about his own father. Jenny throws out the possible name for this child as Bozo the Clown. Jenny finally agrees to call Oliver's parents to let them know they will not attend. Oliver III answers the phone. Jenny tries to get Oliver to talk to his father, finally telling Oliver III herself that Oliver loves him. Oliver.....
