Summary

Marie and DeMarcus work The Private Room where thirty white men over fifty have come for lunch. Marie is backwaiting, glad that DeMarcus will be handling the group and that she will have little communication with them beyond taking their orders. Marie and DeMarcus each work their way down one side of the table, an unspoken race to the end without appearing to rush the customer. After that, Marie fills wineglasses and brings cocktails. One guest gets up and makes a speech about a recently deceased colleague and then the conversation turns to more mundane subjects like cash flow and due diligence; liquidity and mergers. Marie employs a trick she learned from Cal and begins bringing the guest she dubs "Lushie" double tall drinks to slow down the number of times she runs to the bar for him.
