Point of View

The novel is told in the third-person limited point-of-view through the eyes of Lore with the exception of the prologue which follows Wrath (Aristos). The author delays vital information, such as the reason behind Lore’s escape from the house of the Odysseides by having Lore refuse to think about it. This creates the sense that Lore is not a fully reliable narrator. Another example of this is when Lore lies to both the reader and the other characters about the aegis that Athena and the other gods are looking for. She says time and time again that she does not know where it is, when it is later revealed that she is the one who hid it seven years ago.
