Summary

In Chapter 11, On a Black Throne, Kit continues to try to figure out his role in the family, but feels unsettled as the day passes. Kit and Ty are outside when they hear the sound of breaking glass that Ty recognizes as the protective wards breaking. They soon see sea monsters making their way toward the Institute and Ty gives Kit his blade, Adriel. Diana and Livvy join them. Diana orders the Centurions back from the battle. Zara objects, but Diana says she has no experience and orders her back. Kit soon realizes the others are trying to protect him, which makes him happy and annoyed at the same time. Arthur joins the fight. The Shadowhunters are holding their own when the sea creatures suddenly back off. Malcolm Fade, looking fully dead after his time in the water, arrives and addresses them.
