Summary

In this chapter the reader is introduced to Preacher Cline's long standing love for Miss Raines, the local elementary teacher. Catherine Grace tells the story of how every Sunday saw a special Sunday pot roast lunch after church, just her daddy, her sister, and her. However, one Sunday their father tells them that Miss Raines will be joining them, and that throws the girls into confusion.
