Summary

Chapter 13

Teddi gets a call from Stella, her mother's best friend. They were coming back from the stylist, explains Stella, but Teddi’s mother started complaining about not feeling well. Stella took her to the hospital and they are running tests, Stella tells her. Stella tries to insist that Teddi’s mother is fine, but Teddi can tell that the older woman is worried.

Teddi rushes over to the hospital. The doctor tells her that her mother has had a mini stroke. Teddi’s mother isn’t that concerned. The doctor goes on to say that her blood pressure is incredibly high, and she’s in danger of having another stroke. Teddi's mother admits that she hasn’t seen a doctor in years, which worries both Stella and Teddi. They spend the rest of the night with her. Teddi gets ready to leave...
