Marnie is a thirty-year-old single woman who has devoted her life to raising her nephew. She has carried a schoolgirl crush against her nephew's father, Law Kincaid, since she was only fourteen. Marnie is simply the kind of person who is willing to do whatever is necessary for the happiness of others, even when that means adjusting her own life. She is able to find happiness in her own life by way of the happiness of others and she is willing to admit that at least some of her sacrifices have been somewhat selfish.
