Chapters 9, 10 and 11 Summary

Marnie tells Law to leave and he tells her that she should grow up. Then Law asks if she objects to his "handling" of her or the fact that he's a man. Law says that it seems David should have had a male role model in his life and accuses Marnie of refusing to have a man in her life even for David's sake. Marnie is angry at the insinuation and Law leaves with the threat that "it's not over."

Marnie and David are visiting Marnie's mother in the rest home. With David's birthday approaching, his grandmother has made a key ring as a gift. As Marnie replaces some toiletry items in her mother's drawer, she finds stationary and is suddenly certain that her mother wrote the letters to Law......
