Chapters 7 and 8 Summary

Law calls her and invites her to a formal dinner. It's two o'clock and the dinner is at eight, which in Law's mind means she has six hours to get ready. He says that it's her fault that he doesn't have a date, because he's been distracted since meeting David, that he has to go and that it would damage his reputation to go without a date. He also says he has the blood tests back and that they have to talk. Marnie agrees, makes a trip to the hairdresser and stops in an expensive shop for a dress. When Marnie says that she can't afford the dress, the owner marks it down, saying that it's simply perfect for Marnie and that she's still making money on the dress.
