July figures he might find Jake gambling in Fort Worth. July goes to the local post office to mail a letter to Elmira and is surprised to find there is a message waiting for him. Peach writes that Elmira left the day after he did, and Roscoe is on his way to find July. Peach states that in testament to his character, it wasn't likely Roscoe would find July.
