Chapter 12- Afterword Summary and Analysis

Chapter 12 - "Two-two-eight! It's Two-two-eight!"

As Chapter 12 began, Sharmak left. He had given Gulab a note telling him that his family would be killed if he didn't hand Marcus over. They waited, but nothing happened. They began to move up the mountain again. An Afghani fighter was in their path. When he saw Marcus, he raised his weapon. On his hat, there was a badge saying, "Bush for President." Gulab starting reciting Marcus' BUD/S class numbers, and the men realized Marcus was American.

Teams had been searching for Marcus since Wednesday, and now it was Sunday. They fixed Marcus up, setting his wounds. Marcus told them how dangerous their situation on the mountain was. He told them what happened to his team comrades and where they could find the bodies and made maps of the Taliban...
