Chapter 9 Summary

Several weeks pass and Sookie refuses to call Bill. Bill refuses to contact Sookie as well. Then Sookie learns that Bill has been seen around town with Portia. Sookie does not believe it until she sees them together herself. Sookie is deeply jealous and angry. A few days later, Sookie goes to a local high school football game and sits with some old friends, including Tara, her fiancée Eggs, and their friend JB. JB is very handsome, but dumb, therefore not a viable lover for Sookie. However, when Sookie sees Bill there with Portia, she has no trouble making it appear as though JB is her date. Sookie even drives JB home. When Sookie arrives at her own home, Bill is waiting. They make up and Bill tells Sookie that Portia has been using him to convince the sex club...
