Chapters 7-8 Summary

In chapter 7, Sookie wakes before dawn and takes a taxi to the Fellowship church to witness Godfrey's quiet suicide. Sookie cries for him, something that surprises but honors the old vampire. That night, Sookie and Bill go to the Dallas vampire mansion to attend a celebration party for Farrell. When they arrive, Bill and Sookie speak with Stan about the case. Sookie insists on knowing what will happen to Hugo. Stan takes her to a room where Hugo and his lover, Isabel, are chained to opposite walls, naked, and forced to stare at one another. Hugo is obsessed with Isabel in a sexual manner and Isabel is desperate to fed off Hugo's blood. They will remain chained for months and then Hugo will be released twenty-four hours before Isabel.
