Chapter 4 - The Big Switchboard Summary

Bond spends the morning wandering around the streets of New York. Later he meets Leiter and Dexter and they all go to police headquarters. They examine more files on Mr. Big and view pictures of his known associates. They then visit the Coast Guard to see what they have on the man. They learn that Mr. Big's ship, Secatur, has been bringing in rare fish from Jamaica and selling them to a fisherman in Florida. The Secatur also makes radio broadcasts in an unknown language, thought to be a secret voodoo language. The Coast Guard is trying to find someone who understands it.

Dexter tells Bond and Leiter he has instructions from Washington to stay in New York while Bond and Leiter go to St. Petersburg, Florida the next.....
