Chapters 3 and 4 Summary

In Chapter 3, Marcus and his three friends are surrounded by a huge mob of people as the get closer to the BART. People fall down in the crowd and are trampled. The friends decide to work their way out of the station back to the streets above. They work free of the crowd and find a bench. They discover that Darryl had been stabbed in the crowd at BART. Marcus tries to flag down a cop car or ambulance. A military-style jeep finally stops but the four friends are shackled, hooded and taken away. Marcus tries to explain to their abductors who they are, but the men don't listen or respond. He believes at first they have been kidnapped by terrorists.
