Saffron Summary

Fay is just sixteen when she is married to a man of forty. The man, Albert, takes Fay to live in his house in New Orleans with his servants. Each night Albert comes to Fay's room and caresses her and fondles her commenting that her butt is like that of a colored woman's. Despite all this each night he leaves her without making love to her. Fay gets up one night and decides to go find Albert and discovers he is making love to one of the black women who is a servant. Fay is hurt but says nothing.
