Chapters 7-9 Summary

Chapter 7. Sarah wakes early and takes Little Bee with her to pick up some milk and buy gas for the car. Sarah wants to explain why Lawrence spent the night at the house, but Little Bee already understands. What Little Bee does not understand is the dependence on oil that ruined her life. Back at the house, Sarah returns to bed. Little Bee watches television with Charlie for a while before Lawrence asks to talk to her. Lawrence wants Little Bee to give herself in to the police. Little Bee refuses. When Lawrence threatens to turn her in anonymously, Little Bee threatens to tell his wife about his affair with Sarah. They are at a stalemate.
