Chapter 2 Summary

When Alanna wakes up, she finds that Coram and Faithful both trust Liam and that he is now part of their group. Coram has told Liam of the map, hoping that he would be able to advise them on what road to take. Liam advises against going through Sarain, as they are in the height of a civil war. Alanna does not want to go on a boat, so Liam suggests going around the long way along the shores, to avoid the mountainous area where the fighting is heaviest. Liam will ride with them part of the way, as he is heading in that general direction as well. After Liam leaves the room, Coram asks Alanna what way they shall go.
