Mr. Beaver tells the children that Mr. Tumnus was taken off by the police and he does not know where he went, but suspects he might have been taken to the White Witch's house. If that is true, Mr. Tumnus will soon be a statue. Mr. Beaver says there is nothing they can do to help Mr. Tumnus, but that Aslan is on the move and that is good news. The children ask who Aslan is and Mr. Beaver says that he is a lion, the King, the Lord of the wood, and that he has not been in Narnia for a long time. However, it is Aslan who will settle the White Witch and save Mr. Tumnus, after the children meet him at the Stone Table.
