Just after the robin flies away, the children spot movement in the trees to the left of them. At first they are not sure what it is, but soon they discover a beaver watching them. The beaver gestures for them to be quiet and to follow him. Again, Edmund tries to dissuade them from trusting the creatures in the forest, but the children decide to follow the beaver.
