Book 2: Adulthood Rites; Section 4: Home Summary
In chapter one Akin returns to the Earth after having finished his long learning on the Oankali ship. Akin first heads to Phoenix.
In chapter two, three, and four Akin returns and finds Tate sick. Akin tells her about Mars and the options for having children there. Gabriel and Tate allow Akin to try to heal Tate. Gabriel comes in after a long period of time and hits Akin, thinking he is hurting Tate. When Akin wakes up, he realizes he has started metamorphosis. Several different people come to sit by him and ask about the Mars colony. There are many that are certain they will go and many that are determined they will not give up their home planet.
In chapter five and six Akin is in and out of consciousness. Metamorphosis takes months and during that time there are fights about the Mars colony and one...
