The Bad Borrow

A section of land that protagonist and narrator Mr. Vane crosses searching for his way home from the strange other-world, the Bad Borrow is filled with fearsome but beautiful creatures that, whenever they emerge, are frightened back underground by the moon. Vane does not understand at the time that had he remained until daylight, he would have been horribly killed.
