Part 2 Chapter 51 Summary

Even after his good look around the boat, Pi didn't see what he was really looking for, drinking water. Perhaps there was none, so his hope faded. Then he decided to roll back some more of the tarpaulin and look underneath. This was very risky because Richard Parker's den was under the tarp. He was urged by his primal need to survive. He rolled back the tarp and through a pile of lifejackets, he saw the hind quarters and back of Richard Parker. His body and the tiger's were separated only by the fabric of the tarp. He also saw a locker. He lifted the lid of the locker and discovered a multitude of items, including cans of water. He did.....
