Summary

In Lie 8, Linda’s point of view begins as she reflects on the principal of Jefferson High School cancelling prom. She blames the new students and wishes that she could have gone to prom with her older boyfriend Jack. She encounters Bo Nash and his friends cornering Ruth. Linda does not like Bo. The fact that Bo is attacking an innocent girl, regardless of her race, bothers Linda. She tells Bo that the principal is coming down the hall so that he flees with his friends. Then, she goes to the bathroom and is annoyed when she finds a black girl praying and crying there. She tells the girl to leave and realizes that the girl is Sarah from her French class. She admits to being curious about why Sarah is crying. Judy asks after Sarah’s wellbeing, but Linda chastises her...
