Summary

In Lie 4, Sarah is excited to see Mr. Muse, who works as a janitor at Jefferson High School. When Sarah enters the cafeteria for lunch, the other students start complaining about how she smells bad. Sarah hears a girl shriek and worries that it is her sister Ruth. She discovers that the screaming girl is a white girl who Ennis walked near. Sarah sits with Chuck and Ennis for lunch. She wonders if the girls will talk about her for sitting with boys in the cafeteria. She remembers her old boyfriend Alvin, who she kissed, but never French-kissed. Sarah does not like to think about kissing and holding hands because she gets confused. She recalls looking at her mother’s Ebony magazines and looking at the female models, which she is ashamed of doing now. Sarah tells her friends about French class...
