Immaculee and her friends arrived safely at the RPF roadblock but were treated with disdain. The RPF found it difficult to believe that the Tutsis had survived and questioned them as if they were Hutu spies. Eventually Immaculee was recognized by her friend, Bazil, who was an RPF soldier.
